Being a photographer, you have days where you get to see and experience a variety of things and people you wouldn’t normally encounter. Yesterday was one of these days.
I am currently involved in a commercial shoot for a big corporate company. Yesterday I travelled with a group to the Sustainability Centre outside Stellenbosch and then to Khayelitsha on the outskirts of Cape Town. Although I can not currently post the actual shots for the company, I have decided to share a few photographer’s eye shots as we travelled.
The Football World Cup in South Africa is only 20 days away! I personally can’t wait! But I must say the signs of expectation in Khayelitsha is evident around every corner.

We climbed Look Out Hill in Khayelitsha for a view of this (no one knows how big) township. At the top we were surprised to encounter athletes training, stretching and focussing in a nosebleed sunset over Table Mountain. Here is my shots of space in a crowded mind …

I was the only one allowed to shoot out there!

My hope is that my work might one day connect bridges between hearts out there.
