Today we continue to look back at the exciting past 6 month journey through pictures & words that became memories for so many out there.  My lovely wife always encourage and reminds me to celebrate the milestones in life … a time to reflect, rethink (or just to think!), dream and to thank. If you have the time, join me for a short snippet highlight journey through the Blog the past year …  I was doing what I normally do on a Monday – sifting through thousands of photos from the weekend to choose a few for the website and blog. Then the phone rang. Elsa was having her final year Art Exhibition / Evaluation at the Visual Arts Building of the University of Stellenbosch and she desperately…  I now know what it must feel like for a doctor to be on call (or the ghostbusters for that matter, but you get the idea!) I have received two separate messages about capturing nature scenes the past week or so. One was from Keith who have organised and put together a exhibition and presentation…  Sometimes it is good to look back, to take stock where you came from and to determine where you are heading to. The exhibition was 5 years ago. The first wedding I’ve done was actually a year before all this in Glasgow, Scotland back in 2003. Since then, Peartree Photography came about and has handled…  We sat in the Cape Town gardens with the closed envelopes. I got the films developed at Orms and this was the moment when I would first see the product – 5 days before my flight to the exhibition in Esbjerk, Denmark. I said to Adri that if it didn’t look good, I wouldn’t be…  Zanzibar is a tourist and photographer’s heaven! Stone Town surprised us around every corner and I must admit, the beaches made me lazy to strategize and plan shoots. But somehow the shots just came to us. I think the photos speak for themselves (even the ones of Adri – she’s a child of Africa too!)….  I would always go for a walk late in the afternoon. And the picture one find always stayed the same. Everywhere people were playing football! And even if there was no ball, plastic bags would be tied together to form an oddly shaped item that couldn’t puncture or hurt the bare feet eagerly kicking it!… |
