I have just received one of the most upmarket magazines I have held in my hands to date.  Opulent Living (opulent |ˈäpyələnt| adjective; ostentatiously rich and luxurious or lavish) is a brilliant magazine with just the most upmarket stuff out there.  And one of our architectural / interior shots made the latest issue!  We are quite chuffed!

Francois & Nina‘s wedding has made some noteworthy headlines the past few months.  First they were voted as the Allée Bleue Wedding of the Year 2009 – a decision made by the public based on their wedding pictures.

Now they also feature in the current Your Wedding Day Magazine under the Real Weddings Section.  Congratulations guys!

We feel very privileged to have played a part in this and wish you as a couple all the best & happiness in your marriage.  Our prayer for you, as for all the other couples we have photographed before,  is that your blessed marriage will make even more headlines than your wedding day.  Enjoy one another!

If I had a few million, I would definitely invest it in the Val de Vie Wine & Polo Estate between Paarl and Franschhoek.  Apart from the spacious properties on the Estate, you will also find the Val de Vie Wedding Venue (see an example of my Val de Vie Wedding Photography here), a Polo Field and Wine Cellar.   The following shots are a part of a Commercial Photography Shoot I have done for their property department recently.

I must say that I love this totally opposite side of my normal photographic expression.  It is s new challenge full of ample potential.  And with my new Nikon 14mm 2.8 lens on order the sky will not even be the limit … that thing is just so  w  i  d  e  !!  And as a corrected lens, it means straight lines will stay straight – a must for Architectural work.  Joy!  I can’t wait to start using it – yes, even at weddings!

I now know what it must feel like for a doctor to be on call (or the ghostbusters for that matter, but you get the idea!)  I have received two separate messages about capturing nature scenes the past week or so.  One was from Keith who have organised and put together a exhibition and presentation for me.  I just returned home from it it when I got his message … Wil, just look up at the sky!  Wow! Thanks Keith for your hard work.  Your commitment and joy are inspiring!  This one is for you.

Then Coreen phoned late on Sunday night to tell me about the Watsonias in full bloom in Jonkershoek.  I have taken photos for House & Leisure of her beautiful garden in Jonkershoek a while back and we have kept in touch.  The Watsonias are breathtaking after the fire from earlier in the year.  Do yourself a favour and go see it for yourself – a photo can not do it justice.  Thank you for the phone call Coreen – this is my feeble attempt for you.  Feel free to call again …

Tomorrow DJ and Kripa’s wedding will be featuring on another renowned International Wedding Website – Wedding Nouveau. This is the wedding photography I went to do in Manali, Northern India (Himalaya country!) in June 09. Feel free to have a look at their take on our work.

I am privileged to announce that the acclaimed Maharani Weddings website, that exclusively covers high flying Indian weddings in the US, is featuring DJ & Kripa’s wedding today and tomorrow.  I did the couple’s wedding in the beautiful gateway to the Himalayas town of Manali in Himachal Paradesh Province, India on 20 June 2009.  It is also the first time the site is featuring a non-US international wedding!  As they put it, “I can barely keep all the countries in this one straight – groom from Scotland, photographer from South Africa, and wedding in India!”
