Astonishing California Wedding
Brent & Christina’s Astonishing Wedding in sunny California at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is truly a wedding that I will never forget as a wedding photographer. The immense privileged to have been asked to do this and the trust that the wedding couple had in my photographic abilities, means the world to me. I want to start with a huge thank you to you all. It was well worth the journey …
And what a journey it was! One that started ten months prior to the wedding with numerous Skype calls and emails. When I finally arrived (all jet-lagged of course) at San Diego Airport, it felt like a dream come true. I stopped at the first Mexican take out I could find, popped two burritos and hit the bed hard to regain my strength to make this the best wedding ever.
I opened my eyes the next morning to gaze unexpectantly upon a familiar tree. It was a huge Jacaranda just outside of my window. As I looked around, I was amazed at the similarities between this whole area and the Western Cape. I found myself surrounded by a multitude of South African trees and plants. The bride’s parent’s garden even looked like it could have been part of Kirstenbosch! It seems like our plants just grow so well there. Just like the plants, this place with its wonderfully warm and friendly people started to grow on me too. I felt right at home.
The wedding was something to behold. Everyone was just so calm and happy. The ceremony under the tree in front of this Luxury Hotel was absolutely beautiful. The outdoor reception area was draped with string lights under the stars. It looked better than I could have imagined it to be. It was truly magical!
Brent & Christina – I do not know how to thank you enough for everything. I have tried to do so in person and through emails, but I still feel it falls way short. I hope that you will always look back at your wedding photos, with much joy and smiles. I know for sure that I will! Hopefully, we will meet up soon again. I can’t wait for that to happen.
Thank you again. Enjoy these sunny memories.
