Blomfontein Wedding Cradock

If you are South African and have been following the successful KykNet series Boer Soek ‘n Vrou, you will recognise Tiaan from Season 1. I am happy to report that after all these years, this Cradock farmer finally got married. His bride was totally worth the wait.

Alet is family. She is my lovely wife’s cousin. Tiaan could not have asked for a better wife!

What a festival it was halfway up the Blomfontein mountains close to Cradock in the Eastern Cape. Family and friends came from all over to witness this special day at this extraordinary venue. A true celebration!

On a personal level, there have been a few things that will continue to stand out for me from this wedding: the special trip to get there and time with family; being able to do Alet’s wedding after many years of hoping it will all work out; Ouma Anna’s hairpin that Alet wore; the huge smile on Oom Danie’s face as he walked his only daughter down the aisle and danced with her at night; my liefie daughter attending her first wedding and finally, ending the night off dancing with my beautiful wife when all the formalities have ended. I am sure everyone loved this wedding as much as I did.

Dankie Tiaan en Alet vir ‘n ongelooflike tyd saam met julle. Ons sien uit om te kom kuier en weer die gasvryheid van julle en jul mense saam te kan geniet. Alet – ek is soo bly dinge het uitgewerk vir jou. Dankie dat ek jou fotos kon neem. Jy is baie spesiaal en ons weet jy is in goeie hande.
