Lanzerac Wedding Stellenbosch
Sometimes there’s a unique bond between the couple and the venue. Like a daughter getting married on the farm where she grew up or a son being spoilt to his dad’s dreams and hard work becoming a reality. Today I am privileged to present the legacy of the Buchanan family at Lanzerac Estate.
Debbie’s grandparents, Angus & Sush, got married in the Lanzerac Manor House in the late 1940’s. They actually owned the farm and sold it on to the Rawdon brothers in 1958 who operated the first hotel. Debbie’s dad told stories of how he played on the farm and the good memories he had from his early childhood. How special it was to now have his daughter getting married just outside of this house where he grew up and it all started.
They brought along a photo of her grandparents’ wedding in the manor house. We mimicked the shot at the exact spot (although it looks different now – have a look at the black and white shot below) and I centred most of my shoot close to it. It really was a special moment and occasion to be documented.
Thank you Adriaan & Debbie for such a special day with the two of you. I thoroughly enjoyed our engagement shoot in Hermanus with Lilly a while back. The wedding day was no different. I am glad you guys are all fine after the accident and could enjoy your special day despite the problems leading up to it. Very special indeed.
Thank you to the professional Adri Hugo for the Make Up & Hair and to the lovely Mabel from Mabel M Florals. Great work.
